Missouri Prison Reform received the following message from a current resident of a Missouri Department of Corrections facility.
“Torre and Anita Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahhiym Reginald Clemons 990102 (3D – 201) Jefferson City Correctional Center 8200 No More Victims Road Jefferson City, Missouri 65101 February 8, 2024 Re-Entry 2030 (Wrongful Termination) By: Reginald Clemons (a.k.a. RCRebemption Project) Two days ago, on February 6, 2024, I along with three other mintors and instructors, were terminated from the Re-Entry 2030 program, based on the actions of others. The JCCC chaplain F. was fired and walked out of the prison for giving food to his chapel workers. Regardless of all the drugs that were brought into the prisons by security staff during covid 19 quarantine. The Missouri Dept of Corr. Jefferson City administration blame Re-Entry 2030 for all the drugs being found in the prison system today. The purpose of this false pretense is to shut down a successful rehabilitation program where we were doing too much good. I am lost in a world I call a forgotten place. That is what prison is to me. A place were anything can happen to you, the more people forget that we are here. When we fight to become more human or present ourselves as human beings, we are put back into our place no matter what it takes. My Mother’s prayers, lessons and Love are always with me and the hope of Frederick Douglas where he thought us about our undeniable humanity. I did not receive any disciplinary action report or hearing, no documented loss of rehabilitation instructor mentor/elder status. Yet they have terminated us without written notice as to why we were removed from doing a job I LOVE. I have been placed in an area that’s locked down 23 hours a day, that staff call Ad.Seg. uncuffed. Even though I have been wrongfully terminated from the Re-Entry 2030 program, I am still working with activist groups and organizations to help people go home and stay home. I am going to be reaching put to La La Anthony, because we need a spokesperson to speak out on our behalf in Missouri’s Re-Entry program, for us to be able to continue this Re-Entry 2030 work we do. WORD IF THE MOMENT Make Me Great, That I May Serve You Greatly.”
