Missouri Prison Reform received the following message from a resident of a Missouri Prison.
I work in the kitchen. I go to work at 03:30 am. I go to bed early. So with every security check before 10pm the Correctional Officers think they need to wake me up. Then after 10pm the Correctional Officers shine their flashlights in our eyes until we move or wake up then we sometimes see them walk off laughing. When I was in the military sleep deprivation was a form of torture. Having fun at the expenses of others is abuse. These are how people incarcerated are treated because we are thought of as anything but human with rights.
