As we have pointed out before, Director Anne Precythe stated during the zoom town hall meeting that no incarcerated people have been given violations for not wearing a mask. We knew this to be untrue so we asked people to send us copies of their violations. They had trouble getting it out in the mail, but we finally received one.
This came from Algoa Correctional Center and we had a staff member message us telling us that this CO has given out multiple violations for “not following a directive” for the incarcerated not wearing a mask. This incarcerated man was given 30 day restriction from using the phone, 30 day room restriction, and 30 day spend restriction.
