We’ve been told that some of the incarcerated individuals in ad-seg at ERDCC broke off the sprinkler heads in several units so water has been shut off until the sprinkler heads can be fixed. Hopefully the department of corrections addresses this quickly so everyone there has access to water.
Cases are done or gone in most MoDOC facilities (according to their website https://doc.mo.gov/media-center/newsroom/covid-19/data ) so why aren’t we seeing visits open up yet?
We received another message from an incarcerated individual at ERDCC regarding Covid-19, social distancing, and more.
We were told of an incident on 2/28 of some individuals at ERDCC being maced. Today we received information about an assault on a corrections officer. Here’s information we received on both incidents from an incarcerated individual. The facility is no longer on lockdown from what we’ve been told.
Incarcerated individuals are human beings. They’re more than “offenders”. So many of them have trauma in their past. They are people. Here’s one story from an incarcerated man in Missouri.
