Missouri Prison Reform received the following message from a resident of a Missouri prison. Some edits were made for clarity. Names were redacted by Missouri Prison Reform. Missouri Prison Reform does not support the term “offender”. However, people incarcerated are accustomed to this term because that is what they are called/referred to as, by the DOC.

False Write Up By Mail Room Supervisor, IRR,

Missouri Prison Reform,

Enclosed is the information I sent before that got returned when the address was correct. This is on the false unconstitutional write up that I received from the mailroom supervisor. I provided all evidence and (33 years) of case law that states that what I send to my mother is protected under the constitution (1st amendment). I filed a second IRR on retaliation and harassment. They claim it is a duplicate but it is not the one on my write up the requested action asks for write up to be expunged, and the one on the retaliation I placed everything that the mailroom supervisor has done to show a pattern but the requested actions ask for the retaliation and harassment to stop.

Grounds for retaliation by law say to ask to remove retaliation would have been written up anyway. The answer is NO, my message is protected and there is case law to back it up it is clear retaliation. I need to get a copy and I will get it to you as well.

Once you receive this please send me a message on my tablet letting me know. Also the mail supervisor is not handling mail anymore so that is also clear evidence that she did things wrong and has been.

SUBJ: False Violation

Missouri Prison Reform,

I sent you a few emails on this but I am sure they didn’t go out. This is a false violation that the mailroom supervisor wrote on me. On May 25, 2023 I sent a message to my mother who uses my fathers account. The message was hearsay I heard on the yard about the mailroom supervisor here at JCCC, ***** ******. The mailroom supervisor didn’t censor the message as it poses no threat but then she came and wrote me up for a 23.1 “Giving False Information To an Employee or Official”. I was talking to my mother, so this rule does not apply. More so our messages unless they present a threat to the institution are protected by the 1st amendment and the Missouri Constitution Section (8). I went to hearing on 6-1-2023, I presented evidence in the manner of policies, and tons of case law on the issue and state take away all the evidence on this and the fact it is protected under the 1st amendment, the rule does not apply, so further I cannot be guilty, but the hearing officer ignored case law, policies, and found me guilty and took my job from me. The hearing officer was **** *******. The mail room policy states that before a write up can be written on anything mail related that the Deputy Warden has got to be notified. I am sure this didn’t happen. The Censorship policy states that we (people incarcerated) can’t be punished for any message that is critical of institution, staff and state or federal government and that goes further to say even if they (staff) are offended by what we said. She did not write me up for the other staff members I spoke about just the message about her. This is clear retaliation/revenge. The People Incarcerated Accountability Policy states that it is not to be used for retaliation or revenge. So there are several policies that staff members have violated and tons of case law, and they have just set me up for a winnable lawsuit.

Just so the mailroom supervisor can get some revenge. This mailroom supervisor has done a lot wrong here. I was to be married in March. My fiancé wore a dog collar on her ankle in remembrance of her dog that passed. The mail room supervisor went on a rant stating that she was “criminal” and she had a monitoring device and that she can’t come here. My fiancé was a Veteran also with PTSD as well so she felt targeted and called off the wedding. Then my fiancé sent in a book, yes containing nude photos of herself and she had it professionally done and printed. The mail supervisor threw a fit about it, and when she called the switchboard transfer to the mailroom and the supervisor went off on her saying things like how can you do such a thing and you’re a mother. The mail room supervisor showed many staff members the book of the nude photos of my fiancé but would not allow me to have it. There is a big history with this mail room supervisor. She worked at the Jeff Town and has issues there that they put her in the kitchen where it is said she was caught on the dock with a person incarcerated, yet she is still here. They moved her to Censorship with the Deputy Warden where she messed it all up and was censoring everything then they moved her to the mailroom and made her the supervisor. This is crazy the more you do wrong and mess up as a staff member the more promotions you get it seems.

I have highlighted everything violated with my write up. It is now 6-11-23 and my write up has yet to be signed by the administration. I think they are trying to sit on it because they know they are wrong when they need to just fire the mailroom supervisor and fix the issues. Expunge write up and get me my job back with a phone call. There it would be fixed.
