In 2019, Missouri Prison Reform was born from a powerful desire for change ignited within Lori Curry. Disturbed by the harsh realities faced by individuals within Missouri’s prisons, Lori embarked on a mission to shed light on the often-overlooked injustices and hardships endured behind bars. What began as a solitary effort to advocate for better conditions quickly evolved into a movement as stories poured in—from residents, their families, and even disillusioned prison staff. Each story painted a vivid picture of lives impacted by systemic neglect and the urgent need for reform.
OUR STORY
Driven by these narratives, Missouri Prison Reform became a beacon of hope and action. It became a platform where voices, often silenced, found resonance and strength. Advocating for transparency and accountability, the organization tirelessly pushed for policy changes that would ensure dignity, safety, and rehabilitation for all individuals within the state’s correctional facilities.
Today, Missouri Prison Reform continues to grow, fueled by a commitment to human rights and social justice. Through community engagement, legislative advocacy, and collaborative partnerships, we strive to create a future where every person, regardless of circumstance, has the opportunity for redemption and restoration. Our journey is guided by empathy, resilience, and a shared belief in the transformative power of advocacy. Together, we envision a more just and compassionate correctional system—a vision rooted in the stories of those whose lives inspire us to never relent in the pursuit of a better tomorrow.
