Missouri Prison Reform received the following message from a resident of a Missouri Prison.
Hey, I’m currently in the hole so I can not get free cased and lose another out date cause some staff member might have it out for me! I checked in so I can go home in October this year. Well Wednesday, I saw the Ad Seg committee and while I was in their office the camera that is for the safety of staff and ourselves was covered up with a yellow post it sticker. Now to me that is strange, why are the staff allowed to cover the camera’s up with post it stickers? Recently a female staff that worked this house was escorted off the ground because she and a person incarcerated have been engaging in some kind of relationship. I think if the camera was not covered up she still might have a job just saying. This is just more proof of how corrupt this place is. Thank you for listing and the proof I have is 9:11.29 seconds on 08-2-2023 the camera in three office upstairs was clearly covered up.
My celly and are both trying to get off protective custody we have but at least two kites each in to housing unit 3 caseworker and this caseworker will not see us until our next review date which is nuts cause at this point we both feel we are being held hostage if the guy does not want to do his job replace him with someone that will help us out. From my understanding the case workers are supposed to be here to help and assist us in bettering us in return to our houses here and out in the community. Clearly that is not the case here at Algoa correctional center. It seems to me most of these caseworkers are here to take all our privileges away at a drop of a hat. This also needs to be looked into. I get to go home in two months. The IPO has yet to contact me about a home plan. Why not? Because they only do what they have to do and they wait until the last minute so our home plans are not approved until after our release dates and their response is out of our hands. Now if they would do their jobs like they do at every other prison our home plans should be submitted 90 days prior to our release date allowing time for any changes we made needed. That is how this place assists us in our return to our community. Thank you for listening
