We received the following message from a man who’s incarcerated at ERDCC in Bonne Terre. According to the DOC’s website (last updated on Monday, 5/17/21) there are 9 active cases of Covid-19.
“At least one inmate here at ERDCC has already tested positive for COVID-19 who was fully vaccinated. There may be more “breakthrough” case here, but with no testing being done, it’s hard to know. What’s disturbing, is that we don’t go anywhere. And the fact that “breakthrough” cases are already happening in here, is just a testament to how staff do everything they can to ensure COVID-19 continues to be spread within these prisons. If staff were doing what they were suppose to, to protect us, this would not be going on.”
